Falstaff Inn

The Falstaff Inn is a hang-out for students, natural philosophers, those who aspire to become the same, traders, clerks, servants who have some time off, poor to middling-poor gentlemen, and occasionally a noble not of the best family who enjoys slumming it, or who wants to associate with the natural philosophers.

The proprietor discourages the riff-raff, unless business is slow or they show their coin and cause no trouble. The inn is neither up-scale nor a dump. You can get a good meal, decent wine and ale, or a room for the night, all at reasonable cost. A few other rooms are available for private meetings. The inn has a stable where the horses of travelers are well-taken care of.

People gather here to make plans or celebrate success, or to find employment, or to look for help with some task or other, or just to drink and have a friendly game. The proprietor tolerates a small amount of harmless brawling from time to time. Anything more violent than that brings swift and painful retribution.
